FYI - The issue that I was having is that the size of the created image file on phone that I was using for testing was too large for the default XML serialization settings.

Great example code, but I am finding that it doesn't work. Perhaps you can suggest something. Have mostly looked at the photo share app and the problem is that the the deserializer fails and I get a dialog box showing that the XML file format is bad. I can see the file in the inbox and when I added debug code the deserializer seems to work right when I walk the tree, but when I execute the line T body = message.GetBody<T>(m_xmlSerializerWrapper); and exception is raised.

Found a typo in the second code fragment. Must be
